Who we are
One Meal is a meal-planning app that builds dinner plans and grocery lists around the people in your household, their dietary goals and their allergies.
This policy is issued by Crearts LLC (“One Meal”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described here. It covers the One Meal mobile app and the services behind it.
What we collect
Everything below corresponds to data the app actually stores. We do not collect contacts, photos beyond a profile picture you choose, browsing history, or microphone or camera data.
| Category | What it is | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Email address, display name, username, sign-in method (email, Google or Apple), and whether your email is verified | To create your account, sign you in, and contact you about it |
| Profile | Optional bio and profile picture | Shown next to recipes you publish |
| Household | A name and age band for each member, their dietary goal, any daily calorie target, foods they dislike | To size portions and pick recipes suited to each person |
| Allergies | Allergens you select, plus anything you type in the free-text field | To exclude recipes containing them. See section 3 |
| Meal plans | Recipes you select, how many nights you plan for, your shopping frequency, grocery lists | To build and save your plan and shopping list |
| Recipes you publish | Title, description, ingredients, steps, photo | To show them to other members. See section 6 |
| Credits and payouts | Credit balance, an append-only ledger of every credit and debit, withdrawal requests, verification status from Stripe | To operate the credits programme and pay you |
| Subscription | Your plan tier, when it renews or expires, and the store that billed it | To unlock paid features |
| Location | Approximate or precise location, only while using grocery pricing, and only if you allow it | To find nearby stores and their prices. See section 9 |
| Referrals | Your referral code and who referred you | To credit referral bonuses |
| Device and diagnostics | App version, operating system, error and performance logs, and an advertising identifier on free accounts | To keep the app working and, on free accounts, to show ads |
In ordinary use of the app we do not ask for your date of birth, physical address, phone number, government identification, or bank details. Where identity or bank verification is needed for payouts, Stripe collects it directly and we never receive it.
Tax reporting is the one exception. If the amount you withdraw reaches the threshold at which reporting is required, a taxpayer identification number — for most individuals in the United States, a Social Security number — may have to be collected before further payouts can be made. See section 7.
Household members and children
Allergy information is health information. Under GDPR it is a special category of personal data, and several US state laws treat it as sensitive. We hold it because the app cannot keep an allergen out of your meal plan without knowing about it.
You can add other people to a household, including children. For each person the app stores a name you choose, an age band, a dietary goal, allergies, dislikes and optionally a daily calorie target. The age bands include ranges for children (1–3, 4–8, 9–13 and 14–18) because portion sizes for a child are not simply a smaller adult portion.
How we treat it
- Allergy and health information is used only to filter recipes and size portions. It is never used for advertising, never shared with advertisers, and never sold.
- Household details are visible only to the account that owns the household. They are not shown to other members of the community.
- A name for a household member can be a first name or a nickname — the app does not require a real or full name.
Children
One Meal is designed for people aged 13 and older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use One Meal with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
When you add a child to your household you are providing that information as their parent or guardian, and you confirm you are entitled to do so. You can remove any household member at any time in the app, which deletes their details. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at contact@creart-tech.com and we will delete it.
How we use your information
- To run the app — build meal plans, filter recipes by allergy and diet, size portions, and generate grocery lists.
- To operate accounts — sign-in, profile, subscription status, and account emails.
- To price groceries — match your ingredients to products at a store you choose.
- To run credits and payouts — award credits, maintain the ledger, and pay withdrawals.
- To show ads on free accounts — see section 8.
- To keep the service working and secure — diagnose faults, prevent abuse and fraud, and enforce our terms.
- To meet legal obligations — tax and financial record-keeping in particular.
Legal bases (UK/EU)
- Contract — account, meal planning, grocery lists, subscriptions and payouts.
- Explicit consent — allergy and health information, and location. You can withdraw either at any time; withdrawing allergy information means we can no longer filter for it.
- Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention and improving the service, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — retaining financial records.
What is public
Most of what One Meal holds is private to you. These things are not:
- Your display name and profile picture, shown beside any recipe you publish.
- Any recipe you publish — its title, description, ingredients, steps and photo — along with how many times it has been cooked.
- Your email address, household members, allergies, goals, meal plans, grocery lists and credit balance are never shown to other users.
Do not use a profile picture you would not want other One Meal users to see.
Payments, subscriptions and payouts
Subscriptions
Paid plans are billed by Apple or Google through your app store account. We never see your card number. We receive subscription-status information needed to provide paid features.
Credits and payouts
You can earn credits when other members cook recipes you published, and through referrals and subscription tenure. Every credit and debit is recorded in an append-only ledger, which is what lets a balance be reconciled and disputed.
To withdraw credits as money you set up a payout account with Stripe. Stripe collects your identity and bank details directly and is a separate controller of that information under its own privacy policy. We receive only your account identifier, whether payouts are enabled, and your verification status — never your bank details or identity documents.
Tax identification
Tax law requires recipients of payments to be identified once their earnings reach a reporting threshold. If the amount you withdraw in a calendar year reaches that threshold, we or our payout processor may be required to collect a taxpayer identification number — for most individuals in the United States, a Social Security number — along with the details needed to issue the corresponding tax form. Where this is collected through Stripe, you provide it to Stripe directly.
Any tax identification information is used only to meet tax reporting and record-keeping obligations. It is never used for any other purpose, never shared with advertisers, and never sold. It is retained for the period tax law requires and then deleted. If it is not provided when required, further payouts may be paused until it is.
Advertising
Free accounts may see ads from advertising providers. Paid accounts do not see ads.
Advertising providers may use your device's advertising identifier to provide and measure ads, subject to your device settings and applicable permissions. You can reset or limit that identifier in your device settings. We do not use your allergies, household details, dietary goals or meal plans to target ads.
We never share your allergies, household, goals or meal plans with advertisers. Advertising is not targeted using anything you tell One Meal about your health or your household.
Location
If you allow it, One Meal uses your location while you are using the app to find nearby grocery stores and show their prices. We do not track your location in the background and we do not build a location history.
You can refuse or revoke the permission at any time in your device settings. Grocery pricing then falls back to a store you select manually, or shows prices as unavailable.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account from Settings → Delete account.
What deletion does
- Your account is closed and you can no longer sign in.
- Your email address and display name are erased from our records.
- Your household members, their allergies and goals, and your meal plans and grocery lists are deleted.
What we keep, and why
- Credit and payout records may be retained for as long as necessary to meet tax, accounting and legal obligations. Where possible, they are retained without your name or email attached.
- Recipes you published remain visible, shown as published by a deleted account, because other members may have them in their plans. Ask us and we will remove them.
- Deleted information may remain in backups for a limited period before those backups are overwritten.
- A withdrawal that is still processing must finish before an account can be deleted. The app will tell you if this applies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Much of this is available directly in the app: edit your profile and household in Settings, and delete your account there too. For anything else, write to contact@creart-tech.com and we will respond within the period the law allows — generally 30 days.
We do not sell personal information and have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
Where your data is held
We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other service providers to host and process application data in the United States. If you use One Meal from outside the United States, your information may be transferred there.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we use your information we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again.
