Allergies and food safety

The most important section on this page.

Always read the full ingredient list

One Meal hides recipes that contain allergens you have declared, but that filtering is an aid — not a guarantee. It reads ingredient names, so an ingredient that contains an allergen without naming it can slip through.

If someone in your household has a severe allergy, check every recipe and every product label yourself before cooking.

How do I set up allergies for my household?

Allergies are set per person, not per household, because they usually differ between people.

  1. Open your household setup, or tap Start New to begin a new plan.
  2. For each member, select their allergens from the list.
  3. Use the free-text field for anything not listed — it matches against ingredient names.

Recipes containing any household member's allergens are removed from everything you browse: the discovery rails, search, community recipes and meal selection.

What does the "Check" badge on a recipe mean?

It means the recipe contains an ingredient that resembles one of your declared allergens without being tagged as one — "fish sauce" against a fish allergy, for example.

We show it rather than hiding the recipe because we would be guessing either way, and pretending to be certain would be worse. Open the recipe and read the ingredients before deciding.

Why can I still see a recipe with an ingredient I'm allergic to?

Usually one of these:

  • The allergen is in an ingredient that does not name it, so it was not detected.
  • The allergy is recorded on a different household member, and you are viewing a plan for someone else.
  • The recipe was published with an incomplete ingredient list.

Please report it with Report — that is how we find and fix these.

Account and sign-in

I can't sign in with Google

Try these in order:

  1. Make sure you are online, then close the sign-in sheet and try again.
  2. If the sheet opens and does not return, force-close the app and reopen it.
  3. If you have more than one Google account, check you chose the one you signed up with — an account created with Google is separate from one created with the same email and a password.
  4. Update to the latest version.

Still stuck? Email contact@creart-tech.com with your device model and OS version.

Why am I being asked to set up my profile again?

You should only see profile setup once, when you first create an account. Being asked again is a bug — please tell us.

Setting up a household is different and does recur: it runs whenever you start a new plan, so you can change who is eating. That is expected.

How do I change my name, bio or photo?

Settings → Profile. Your display name and photo appear beside any recipe you publish, so choose something you are happy being seen publicly. Editing them never restarts onboarding.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Delete account.

This closes your account, and removes your email, name and household details.

Two things to know:

  • Credit and payout records are kept — tax rules require it — but without your name or email attached.
  • Recipes you published may stay visible, shown as from a deleted account, because other people may have them in their plans. Email us and we will remove them.

If a withdrawal is still processing, it has to finish before the account can be deleted. The app will tell you.

Plans and billing

What do the plans include?
  • Free ($0) — meal planning and grocery lists for one person. Includes ads.
  • Pro ($5.99/month) — community recipes, earning and withdrawing credits, no ads.
  • Premium ($7.99/month) — everything in Pro, plus planning for a household of several people.
How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so cancellation happens there — not in One Meal.

  • iPhone — Settings → your name → Subscriptions → One Meal → Cancel.
  • Android — Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → One Meal → Cancel.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. You keep paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.

I want a refund

Refunds are handled by the store that billed you, under its own policy — we cannot issue them. Request one through Apple or Google Play's order history.

If the store declines and you think there are grounds, write to us.

I paid but the app still shows me as Free
  1. Open Settings → Restore purchases.
  2. Check you are signed in with the same store account that made the purchase.
  3. Force-close and reopen the app.

If it still shows Free after a few minutes, email contact@creart-tech.com with your store receipt.

Credits and payouts

How do I earn credits?
  • 5.5 credits when another member cooks a recipe you published.
  • 25 credits when someone you referred becomes a paying subscriber.
  • 25 credits each month you hold a paid plan.

100 credits are worth $1.00 when withdrawn. Cooking your own recipe earns nothing, and a single recipe can earn from at most 500 uses in a month.

When can I withdraw?

All of these have to be true:

  • You have at least 2,500 credits ($25.00).
  • Your email address is verified.
  • You have finished identity verification with Stripe and payouts are enabled.

Set this up in Settings → Payouts. Stripe collects your identity and bank details directly — we never see them.

Do I owe tax on credits I withdraw?

Possibly. Money you withdraw may count as taxable income where you live. We do not withhold tax from payouts, so reporting and paying it — including filing your own returns — is your responsibility. We cannot give tax advice; if you are unsure, speak to a qualified tax professional.

If the amount you withdraw reaches the threshold at which tax reporting is required, we or our payout processor may need to collect a taxpayer identification number — for most people in the United States, a Social Security number — before further payouts can be made. It is used only for tax reporting, and payouts may be paused until it is provided.

Payout setup won't start

If you see "Payouts are not enabled for this environment yet", that is on our side, not yours — payouts are still being switched on. Nothing is wrong with your account, and credits you have earned are safe in your balance.

Otherwise, check your email is verified and try again on a stable connection.

My credit balance looks wrong

Every credit and debit is recorded individually, so a balance can always be traced. Open Wallet to see the history.

Credits appear when someone finalises a plan containing your recipe, not when they merely view it. If the history still does not add up, email contact@creart-tech.com — the underlying record is authoritative and we will reconcile it.

Recipes and meal plans

Why do I only see a few recipes in a category?

Categories are filtered by your household's allergies first, so a restrictive profile legitimately shows fewer recipes. Categories with nothing left after filtering are hidden entirely rather than shown empty.

Recipe times and nutrition also vary by source — some recipes have no cook time recorded, so they cannot appear in a time-based category.

A recipe I picked isn't in my plan

Pull to refresh on the Meals tab, which reloads the catalogue. If a meal is still missing after that, tell us which one — we would want to know.

How do I publish my own recipe?

Meals → + Submit, on a Pro or Premium plan.

List every ingredient — including oils, sauces and garnishes. Other people's allergy filtering depends on your list being complete. See the Community Guidelines.

Grocery list and prices

Why does an item say "Price unavailable"?

Because we could not get a real price for it, and we would rather say so than show you a number we made up. Your basket total then covers only the items we could price, and the app says how many are missing.

Connecting a store, where available, improves coverage considerably.

Why is the price different from what I paid?

Prices in the app are estimates for planning. They can differ because:

  • Retailer data lags behind shelf prices, and prices vary by store.
  • Tax, deposits and fees are not included.
  • Packages come in fixed sizes — a recipe needing two tablespoons of oil still means buying a bottle.

The price at the register is always the retailer's.

Why does the app want my location?

Only to find nearby stores and show their prices, and only while you are using the app. There is no background tracking and no location history.

You can decline. Grocery pricing then uses a store you pick manually, or shows prices as unavailable.

The same ingredient appears twice

Quantities of the same ingredient across recipes are combined into one line. If two lines look like the same thing under different names — "spring onion" and "green onion" — send us a screenshot; that is a matching gap we can fix.
